Mary Lucille (Wenning) Kinninger

Mary Lucille (Wenning) Kinninger, 74, Troy, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024 at Koester Pavilion in Troy, Ohio.   She was born November 12, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Lucille (Trangenstein) and Edward Wenning and they are deceased.   On September 10, 1983 she married David Kinninger who preceded her in death on May 2, 2023.   Mary is survived by sisters, Carol (Jim) Ballweg, Susan (Chuck) Conner, brother, Mark (Penny) Wenning, sister-in-laws, Carol (Guy) Bowser, Pam (Russ) Stewart, Darlene (Matt) Clayton and brother-in-laws, Dan (Joyce) Kinninger and John Kinninger.  Mary was preceded in death by both of her parents, brother Joseph, sister-in-law, Kay (David) Pope, brother-in-laws, Tom (Karen) Kinninger and Gary (Barb) Kinninger.   Mary graduated from Alter High School and Miami Jacobs Junior College. She was employed for 46 years for Smith and Schnacke/Thompson Hine LLP as an accountant before her retirement in 2016.   She was active in the Kettering Jaycees.   Mary loved to try new recipes and spent many hours canning which she would generously give to family and friends.   The family loved her jam recipes and in particular her "Rosie" pickles.   She enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals football, playing Wordle and spending time with family and friends including hosting Thanksgiving dinner for 45 hungry people!   Everyone was welcome at her home.  She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her, including Sadie.   The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Koester Pavilion and Dr. Chamarthy and his staff including the Blood and Cancer Center at Upper Valley Medical Center for all their help and care for Mary. Memorial contributions can be made to Miami hospice and Miami Humane Society, envelopes will be at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Steven Mondiek.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio.  Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 5-8 PM.   Condolences may be expressed on Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home's web site at www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com
