Byron Everett Bogart, 93, Piqua, Ohio formerly of Sidney, Ohio died at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Piqua on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 4:20 PM. He was born August 23, 1916 in Waynesfield, Ohio the son of George and Hattie (Walters) Bogart and they are deceased. He was married on December 27, 1941 to Mary Gilardi and she died in 1978. Surviving are six children, William of Gainesville, Florida; Robert and wife Kathy of Houston, Ohio; Rebecca Dininger of Sidney, Ohio; Michael and wife Deborah of Troy, Ohio; Teresa Liddy and husband Dan of Troy, Ohio and Mark and wife Carla of Sidney, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mona Galbreath and Velma Sarver and one brother, Kenneth Bogart are deceased. He attended school in Plattsville. He was a United States Army veteran in World War II and was in the Calvary, Army infantry and the motor pool. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW and past commander at the VFW and a member of the Sidney Elks. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and had worked at Monarch in Sidney as a machinist and at Perfecto in Piqua for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Jason Bedel. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney with full military honors. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 6-8 PM.
