Cecile Q. Acker, 91, of Sidney, passed away at The Landings of Sidney on November 6, 2020, at 11:45 pm. She was born on August 23, 1929, in Chesapeake, Ohio, the daughter of Benjamin and Edith (Wilson) Questel. On December 30, 1955, she was married to Howard B. Acker, who preceded her in death.
She was a retired Teacher, and worked for 30 years in the Willoughby Eastlake School System and taught Home Ec., and clerical. She loved woodworking and made all kinds of wood project, bookcases. She even crafted a harp! She also enjoyed sewing and quilting, and volunteered at Wilson Memorial Hospital. She was a Member of Eastern Star, and Hardin United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son: Todd (Marcia K.) Acker, of Sidney, and one grandchild: Jordon T. Acker, of Loveland Ohio. She is survived also by one sibling, Catherine Q. (Ray) DeMattia, and sister-in-law, Jean Questel. She was preceded in death by her sister, Anne Q. Sowards, and her brothers, Theodore Questel, Louis Questel, and John Questel.
Friends may call at Salm-McGIll and Tangeman Funeral Home, 502 S. Ohio Ave. Sidney Ohio 45365, from 4 till 6pm on November 12, 2020. Services will be at the Funeral Home, on November 12, 2020, at 6pm, with Pastor Jack Chalk, officiating. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to Wilson Hospice, whom the family would like to thank for their wonderful care of Cecile.
