David C. Edwards, 91, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away on January 19, 2023, at Hospice of Miami County in Troy, Ohio. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 24, 1931 to Paul Kenneth Edwards and Mary (Carroll) Edwards. He and his family lived in four states before settling in Maplewood, New Jersey where he entered first grade. He attended the school system and graduated from Columbia High School in 1949. He also attended The George School in Bucks County, Pa. David graduated from Rutgers University in 1955 with a degree in Agriculture. After graduation he entered the Air Force and earned his pilots wings. Immediately after earning his wings in 1956, he married Lois Flora, who predeceased him in 2001.

While in the Air Force he piloted B-25s, B29s and KC-97 tankers. He served two tours in North Africa and one in Goose Bay, Labrador, and attained the rank of Captain.

He is survived by two sons, Glenn and wife Cheryl of Dallas, TX, and Stewart of Taos, N.M. Two granddaughters, Sarah (Richard) Bardon, and their son Jude of Dallas, TX, and Skyler Edwards of Taos, N.M. In addition a sister, Patricia Weston of Ft. Myers, FL. and Mary Cartwright a longtime friend and companion of Sidney, OH.

In keeping with Davids wishes he will be cremated and there are no services to be held. Online condolences may be left for the Edwards family at www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Miami County Hospice for all their help and care with David.
