David Gavin, 57, of Sidney, passed away at home, on Friday July 12th, 2024 at 3:46pm. He was born on August 25, 1966, to the late Nathaniel and Willie (Daniels) Gavin in Atlanta, Georgia.
He is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Ferree; Two daughters, Quintella, (Ernest) Gray of Atlanta, GA; Tiana Gavin, one son Nicholas Gavin, two stepsons, Mark and Justin Richardson, both of Sidney, Ohio. He also leaves behind his Granddaughters - Kieara, Savannah, Taylor, Tessa, Aubrey, and Julia; His Grandsons - Kameron, Payton, Jordan, Justin, and Jay, all of Sidney Ohio; Two sisters - Natalie Gavin and Beverly Gavin Owens, sister in law - Angela Gavin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunties in Georgia. He is also survived by Ruth Wood, Bill (Jill) Wood, Roger Flees, Dan (Mary Ann) Wood, Deb (John) Mentges, Dave (Sally) Wood, and Amy Wildermuth. Dave was preceded in death by his Parents, and his Sister - Janice Williams, his Brothers Edward, and Nathaniel Gavin, Brother in laws Charles Owen, Thomas Wood, and Kenneth Williams, his Mother in law Patricia Wood, as well as Sister in laws Nancy Flees, and Peggy Wood.
In 1984, David graduated from Price High School in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was a very talented athlete and played football. Later, he then joined the United States Navy and proudly served our country for 4 years. David was of the Baptist faith. He was a past member of the American legion. David was very enthused with sports, but especially watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, The Cincinnati Bengals, and could even be found watching Unsolved Mysteries on TV. Best of all he loved being around his grandchildren!
