Della M. Blankenship

Della M. Blankenship, 76, 214 Doorley Rd., Apt. F, Sidney, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 4:20 PM at Miami Valley Hospital from injuries from a fall. She was born September 20, 1937 in Clearfield, Tennessee, the daughter of Dewey and Maggie (Moore) Strunk and they are deceased. She is survived by three children, James (Tony) Knott and wife Connie of Sidney, Ohio, Susan Smith of Sidney, Ohio and Patricia Russom of Sidney, Ohio and a brother Roger Strunk and wife Josie of Sidney, Ohio and a sister, Jessie Standfield of Sidney, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, Nathan McBride and fianc, Shanda Joyce of Sidney, Ohio, Melanie McBride of Sidney, Ohio, Trista McNabb and husband Josh of Sidney, Ohio, Keisha Lambdin of Tennessee, Dwayne Knott and wife Christina of Sidney, Ohio, MaLisha Daniel and fianc Chris Rigel of Sidney, Ohio, Roxanne Knott of Sidney, Ohio, Ronald Smith III of Tennessee, and James Daniel, Tyler Joyce and Cody Joyce all of Sidney; eleven great-grandchildren, four nephews and five nieces. Mrs. Blankenship had worked at the Sidney Tanning Company for many years and also was a nurses aide for Shelby County Home Health. She was a member of the Russell Road Christian Center in Sidney and attended Our Fathers House regularly. She collected lighthouses and angels. She was the monarch of the family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Russell Road Christian Center, 340 W. Russell Road, Sidney, Ohio with Pastor Fred Gillenwater. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 2-4 PM. Cremation services will take place after the funeral services. Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Russell Road Christian Center, 340 W. Russell Rd., Sidney, Ohio 45365.
