Doris E. (Weissinger) Schwaiger, 80, 1301 Sixth Ave., Sidney, Ohio died at her residence on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 10:10 AM. She was born on March 10, 1930 in Anna, Ohio the daughter of William and Alma (Goelzer) Weissinger and they are deceased. On April 26, 1952 she married Joe Schwaiger who survives. On their first date in 1950, her and Joe walked in Tawawa Park to the tune of 'Waltzing Matilda' on his harmonica. Also surviving are five sons, David of Minot, North Dakota; Kurt of Piqua, Ohio; Mark of Kansas; Frank of Huber Heights, Ohio and Sam of Seattle, Washington; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ada Carr of Anna, Ohio and Mrs. Robert (Ruby) Bailey of Pocatello, Idaho. A daughter, Suzanne Schwaiger Bergman died in 2005 and also two sisters, Velma Weissinger and Marie Hobbs and four brothers, Virgil, Ralph, Carl and Alvin Weissinger are deceased. Mrs. Schwaiger was a 1948 graduate of Anna High. She was a seamstress. She was active in the Shelby County-Sidney YMCA in Sidney. As per her, request her body will be cremated and there are no services. Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney is handling the funeral arrangements.
