Douglas A. Jackson, 75, of Sidney, Ohio, was called home to heaven on February 25, 2023, at his home in Sidney, Ohio. He was born March 11, 1947, in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of Roy and Dorothy (Kozlowski) Jackson who are deceased.

Douglas is survived by four children Roy Jackson II of Iceland, Europe; Sigridur (Scott) Westberg of Kent, Ohio; Hakon Jackson, and Tryggvi Jackson both of Sidney, Ohio; one brother James Jackson of Falls Church, Virginia, along with two grandchildren Magnus Jackson and Sylvia Westberg. Douglas was preceded in death by both his parents and a brother Robert Jackson.

Douglas graduated from Waukegan High School class of 1965. Following College he entered the Army serving our country. He enjoyed anything to do with trains and was a true railroad fan, taking photos of everything he was doing, and was an active republican party member, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Douglas was very passionate in everything he did and always had the best stories to share.

He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where he was an usher at masses. Douglas was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Douglas was of the Catholic faith.

Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney, Ohio on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 6:00 PM 7:00 PM and again on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 8:00 AM 9:00 AM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 9:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Aaron Hess. A private interment will be held at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, OH. Online condolences may be left for the Jackson family at www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com.
