Harold Orville Wiley, 69, 333 Sycamore St., Sidney, Ohio died at his residence on June 16, 2009. He was born October 5, 1939 in Sidney, Ohio the son of T. Orville Wiley and Lucile (Young) Wiley and they are deceased. He was married on February 27, 1993 to Margaret (Maggie) Adams and she survives along with special family member, Nancy L. Braunm; eight children, Lisa Wiley of Sandusky, Ohio; Kelly (Fred) Wells of Quincy, Ohio; Gary (Andrea) Wiley, Keith (Kara) Wiley, Mollie (Brian Sr.) Gold, Steve (Karen) Fogt, Michael (Elizabeth) Fogt and Chad (Haley) Fogt all of Sidney; fourteen grandchildren, Jessica Wells, Travis Wells, Lane Wells, Nicole Wiley, Justine Wiley, Emily Wiley, Payton Wiley, Kavin Wiley, Brian Gold Jr, Heather Gold, Ashlyn Fogt, Brooke Fogt, Kaden Pauley, Karsen Fogt. He was a 1957 graduate of Sidney High School and a 1964 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He also attended Urbana University and Ohio State University. Wiley was employed at Salm and Sharp Funeral Home in Sidney in 1965 and then became co-owner in 1967 with William E. Salm when the name changed to Salm and Wiley Funeral Home. Wiley was a longtime City of Sidney councilman from 1981-1999 in the First Ward of Sidney. At one time Wiley was also a realtor with Brentlinger Realty Office in Sidney after he graduated from the Hussman Real Estate School in Dayton, Ohio. Wiley was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sidney where he had served as head usher, a member of the board of directors of the Men's Association at the church, at one time was in the Sidney Kiwanis Club, Masons, Board of Directors member of the Red Cross, active in the Shelby County Senior Citizens Center in Sidney; had co-owned H and W Power Equipment Company in Sidney; worked at Sidney Design Company at one time, was employed at the Spot Restaurant in Sidney. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Sidney, Ohio with Rev. Joe Hinds. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney on Sunday, June 21, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Center of Sidney and Shelby County, 304 S. West Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365 or the First Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Miami Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365.
