Harry Joseph Harris Sr., 73, 980 N. Wagner Ave., Sidney, Ohio died at Springfield Community Hospital, Springfield, Ohio on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 7:05 PM of natural causes. He was born April 8, 1931 in Canton, Ohio the son of Henry Joseph and Jennie (Lenning) Harris. The mother survives in Springfield. He was married in 1952 to Juanita Marie Koon and she died August 1, 1999. Surviving are eight children, Toni Weaver, Diana Cowley, Marvin Loudenback, Pam Rose, Terry Harris, Jerry Harris, Joe Harris and Sherry Mann; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters. One brother and one sister is deceased. He was a member of the Sidney Eagles, Elks, and Moose. He was a member of the Sidney Baptist Church. He was retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation in 1976 and owned and operated J and H Painting until 2003. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the Sidney Baptist Church with Rev. David Moran. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Friday, January 7, 2005 from 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice, 915 W. Michigan St., Sidney, Ohio 45365.
