Henry Moses Eikenberry, 91, of Dorothy Love Retirement Community, 2500 N. Kuther Rd., Apt. 307, Sidney, Ohio passed away at his residence on Friday, February 15, 2013. He was born September 29, 1921 in Colburn, Indiana the son of Joel and Caperina (Plunkett) Eikenberry and they preceded him in death. He was married on April 8, 1947 to Eleanor Kiernan and she passed away on August 2, 1983. Surviving are four children, Mary Bowne and husband Bill of Sand Point, Idaho, John Eikenberry and wife Sharon of Sidney, Ohio, Joe Eikenberry and wife Maryjean of Palencia, California and Jim Eikenberry and wife Kendra of Fort Mill, South Carolina; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Five sisters and one brother are deceased. Mr. Eikenberry was a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. He was a metallurgical engineer with World National Lead of Ohio for eighteen years and also worked at General Electric in Evendale, Ohio and Aero Jet Ordinance in California. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 6:00 PM with Rev. Keith Matthews officiating at the Dorothy Love Amos Chapel, 3003 W. Cisco Rd., Sidney, Ohio. Burial will be at a later date at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California with full military honors.
