Ivo Joseph Sherman, 92, passed away at Logan Acres, Bellefontaine, Ohio on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 2:12 AM. He was born October 7, 1925 in Fort Loramie, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Clara (Doseck) Sherman and they are deceased. He was married on October 22, 1949 to Mary Catherine Wilkins and she is deceased. Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Sherman of Huber Heights, Ohio and Jo Childers and husband Malcolm of Bellefontaine, Ohio and granddaughter, Katie Childers. One son, Ivo Sherman Jr. is deceased. Surviving is a sister, Margie Crusey of Sidney, Ohio and a brother, Bernard Sherman of Newport Richey, Florida. A sister, Thelma Kerber and a brother, Jim Sherman are deceased. Mr. Sherman attended Fort Loramie Schools and was a United States World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of the Sidney Elks, American Legion and Holy Angels Catholic Church and also the St. Mary of the Wood Catholic Church in Russell Point, Ohio. He was a tool and die designer and in sales and part owner of the West Milton Precision Company in Vandalia, Ohio. Private funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney with Rev. Frank Amberger. Memorial contributions may be made to the Univeral Home Health and Hospice, 701 S. Main Ave., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio. Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney is handling the funeral arrangements.
