James Carl Neilan

James Carl Neilan, 80, 424 Wilson Ave., Sidney, Ohio died at his daughter's home in Amherst, Ohio on Monday, May 24, 2004 at 4:15 PM after an extended illness. He was born December 21, 1923 in Sidney, Ohio the son of James and Delilah (Rich) Neilan. He married Laura M. Snyder on August 22, 1943 and she died August 3, 2001. Surviving are six children, James Neilan and his wife Peggy of Sidney, Ohio; Joe of Put-In-Bay, Ohio; Tom Cole of Sidney, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Brenda) Vondenhuevel of DeGraff, Ohio; Mrs. Jack (Susan) Kubicki of Amherst, Ohio; Mrs. Jerry (Lisa) Thiebeau of Piqua, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, Jeff, Jennie, Ben, Amy, Emily, Clayton, Abby, Lindsey, Jack, Christopher, Carrie, Joseph Curtis and Jacob and four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ryley, Trevor, and Charlie. One son, William L. Neilan and one brother, William Neilan are deceased. He was a member of the Sidney Eagles. He had worked at Monarch Machine Tool Co. for 23 years and retired from the City of Sidney as a foreman in the Parks and Recreation Department. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 28, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home with Rev. Fred B. Lacuesta. Burial will be at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 27, 2004 from 6-8 PM.
