Janell E. Bertsch, 84, 1137 Fairmont Dr., Sidney, Ohio died at her residence on Friday, March 28, 2003. She was born April 11, 1918 in Coldwater, Ohio the daughter of Earl and Gertrude (Ballweg) Wooddell. She was married in February of 1949 to Forest Bertsch and he died in 1975. Surviving are one daughter, Jan Bertsch of Sidney, two brothers, John H. Wooddell of Sidney and Robert Wooddell of Tucson, Arizona. One sister and three brothers are deceased. She was a graduate of Northwestern Business College in Lima, Ohio and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Rosary Altar Sodality, Elks, VFW and the American Legion. She was retired from the Shelby County Commissioners Office and also had been the director of the CETA program in Shelby County. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Earl Fernandes. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 from 4-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Lehman High School or the Shelby County Meals on Wheels Program. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
