Jeanette Fay Meyer, 90, formerly of Troy, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney. She was born October 13, 1919 in Mississinawa Township, Darke County, the daughter of the late Oscar and Lona (McKibben) Brock. On December 23, 1939, she married Herbert L. Meyer, in a double wedding with friends Ruth and Bob Krick. Herbert preceded her in death on May 20, 1982. She is survived by two sons, Stephen L. Meyer and his wife Ann of Sidney, Ohio, and David B. Meyer and his wife Jacquelyn of Kingston, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Catherine and husband Dennis Eng of Springboro, Ohio, Sara and husband Matthew Ryan of Troy, Ohio, and Amanda and husband Jason Willis of Ontario, California; and six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Annette Eng, Charlie and Lydia Ryan, and Cade and Mac Willis. Mrs. Meyer had worked at Uhlman's Department Store in Troy and retired as store manager at the Fashion Shop in 1986 after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Troy Elk's Auxiliary and a member of the First Lutheran Church of Troy, Ohio. The family will receive condolences and celebrated the life of Jeanette at the Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home, 502 S. Ohio Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365 on Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 1-4 PM. A private service of interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In keeping with Mrs. Meyer's wishes, her body will be cremated and interred at the Greenville Union Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio.
