John Jacob Davis, 92, 349 Enterprise Ave., Sidney, Ohio died at his residence on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at 11:00 AM of natural causes. He was born January 11, 1913 in Miami County the son of William and Bertha (Araminta) Davis. He was married on January 21, 1936 to Ellean Elizabeth Friesthuler and she died May 26, 1994. Surviving are six children, Mrs. William (Karen) Ginn of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Mrs. Ruben (Elizabeth) Martinez of Sidney, Ohio; Mrs. Terry (Regina) Stotler of Sidney, Ohio; Raymond Davis and wife Judy of Austin, Texas; John Franklin Davis and wife Doreen of Lowell, Massachusetts; and Michael Davis Sr. and wife Belinda of Lowell, Massachusetts; 45 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive. One son, and several brothers and sisters and three great-grandsons are deceased. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. He was a local coon hunter. He had worked at Shelby Manufacturing/Stolle Corp. as a draftsman and foreman for 40 years. He then worked for Ralph Stolle on his farm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2005 at 10:30 AM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Bensman. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery, Botkins, Ohio. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Sunday, January 23, 2005 from 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Angels Endowment Fund, 324 S. Ohio Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
