John Richard Marsh

John R. Marsh, 77, of Botkins, went home to be with his loving wife on June 27, 2021, at 12:30 pm at his residence. He was born April 2, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of John and Ruth (Sperou) Marsh, both parents preceded him in death. On September 16, 1989, he married Catherine (Haas) Marsh, who preceded him in death on February 12, 2017.

John, is survived by: sons, Parker (Mildred) Marsh, and Jube Marsh both of San Antonio, Texas, and adopted daughter Jenn Bousquet, of Narin Ontario, Canada. He is also survived by a sister; Nancy Brown, of Chicago; 2 grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and sister, Barbara.

John graduated from Sidney High School class of 1962. John went on to the Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelors degree in business. He was a United States Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War as Staff Sargeant. John retired from driving and helping the Amish. John was a member of the Sidney VFW, Sidney America Legion, and Sidney Kiwanis. John loved to go fishing, doing crafts, and most of all tinkering around with almost anything he could, and most of all spending time with his family. John was of the Christian Faith.

Visitation and Services will be Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home, 502 S. Ohio Ave. Sidney from 2 4 pm. Service will follow at 4pm at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Eileen Hix with Military Honors by the US Army Honor Guard, and Sidney American Legion/VFW Combined.
