Karen Schlagetter

Karen Schlagetter, 67, Sidney, Ohio, passed away at her residence on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11:35 AM. She was born January 29, 1950 in Sidney, Ohio the daughter of Richard and Genevieve (Anderson) Schlagetter and they are deceased. Karen was retired from the Social Security Administration and truly enjoyed her family and friends. She was an avid collector of Disney items and also liked music, movies, reading, puzzles and especially her nieces and nephews and their families. She resided in Columbus, Ohio until 2013 when she came back to Sidney. She is survived by two brothers, Steven Schlagetter of Columbus, Ohio and Mark (Jeannie) Schlagetter of Sidney, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Richard Cole and nieces and nephews, Tim (Alice) Cole of Sidney, Ohio, David (Karla) Cole of Sidney, Ohio, Dan (Karen) Cole of Parma, Ohio, Philip Schlagetter of Columbus, Ohio, Chris (Leiana) Schlagetter of Utah, Gary (Toya) Tyler of California, Kevin Tyler of Columbus, Ohio, Monica Schlagetter of Virginia, Kari (James) Riley of Georgia, Blaine (Trista) Schlagetter of Delaware, Ohio, Travis Schlagetter of Hilliard, Ohio and Lindsay Schlagetter of Sidney, Ohio and great nieces and nephews, Brandon (Chrissy) Cole of Blue Ash, Ohio, Adrienne (Kevin) Fortkamp of Sidney, Ohio, Daniele Cole of Sidney, Ohio, Megan Cole of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sabryna Schlagetter of Colorado, Sean Schlagetter of California, Dylan Schlagetter of California, Tia Tyler of Columbus, Ohio and Rashad Tyler of Columbus, Ohio, Mia Tyler of Columbus, Ohio, Gary Tyler Jr. of California, Arielle Tyler of California, Hannah Riley of Georgia, Shelby Riley of Georgia, Ruthie Riley of Georgia, Jake Schlagetter of Delaware, Ohio and great-great nieces and nephews, Grant Cole of Cincinnati, Ohio, Oliver Fortkamp of Sidney, Ohio, Ava Fortkamp of Sidney, Ohio, Ella Fortkamp of Sidney, Ohio and Jackson Cole of Blue Ash, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Cole and her sister-in-law, Margaret Schlagetter. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio with Rev. Eileen Hix of the Sidney First United Methodist Church officiating. Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney is handling the funeral arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Memorial Hospice.
