Karen Sue Brandon, 55, 227 Maple St., Sidney, Ohio died at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima, Ohio on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 6:50 PM. She was born August 23, 1948 in Celina, Ohio the daughter of Oscar and Mary (Chalmers) Brandon. Her dad died in 1984 and her mom died in 2003. She moved to Shelby County in 1967 from Conover, Ohio. Surviving are four sisters, Emma Jean Black, of Sidney, Ohio; Barbara Brandon of Sidney, Ohio; Mrs. Gene (Diana) Copeland of Sidney, Ohio; Mrs. Jerry (Jane) Pogue of Sidney, Ohio; two brothers, Harold and his wife April of Sidney, Ohio; and Jerry and his wife Anita of South Bend, Indiana; foster brother, David Mong of Troy, Ohio and his wife Shari and foster sister, Mrs. Chad (Jennifer) Nolan of Sidney, Ohio. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She graduated from Miami-East High School in 1967 and worked at the Sidney Daily News from 1967-1970 and worked at the Spot restaurant for 27 years. She loved to crochet, cook and sew. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home with Rev. David Moran. Burial will be at Houston Cemetery, Houston, Ohio. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home, Wednesday, January 28, 2004 from 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospital Transport Service, 915 W. Michigan St., Sidney, Ohio 45365 and envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
