Karl E. Hesselbein Jr.

Karl E. Hesselbein Jr., 72, 2405 Aldrin Dr., Sidney, Ohio passed away at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 5:25 PM of cancer. He was born January 11, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Karl E. Hesselbein Sr. and Pauline (Croyle) Hesselbein and they are deceased. He married Krista Porter on May 30, 1970 and she survives in Sidney along with three children, Emily Hesselbein of Columbus, Ohio, Laura Osborne of Sidney, Ohio and Andrew Hesselbein and wife Sherry of Marion, Ohio; one sister, Sally Ann Hesselbein of Lorain, Ohio and two grandchildren, Austin Osborne and Alex Osborne of Sidney. Mr. Hesselbein was a 1962 graduate of Garfield Heights High School, Garfield Heights, Ohio and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Ohio State University and a Masters Degree in Education from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He had been an English teacher at Fort Loramie School, Anna School and Bellefontaine Middle School. He had been employed for fourteen years at the Bellefontaine Library, Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sidney and was a deacon there. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church in Sidney with Rev. George Gnade. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
