Kathryn Marie Beck

Kathryn Marie Beck, 99, 3003 Cisco Rd., Sidney, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. at her residence. She was born February 3, 1910 in Clyde, Ohio the daughter of Frank and Mary Gertrude (Shanahan) Bruggeman. On June 9, 1927, she married Clayton Dale Beck in Fremont. He died June 3, 1984. Kathryn is survived by a son, Richard C. (Lillian M.) Beck of Centerville; a sister, Margaret Stueve of Peoria, Illinois, and a brother, Frank Bruggeman of Columbus. She is also survived by grandchildren, Debbie (Mike) Richwine of Winnetka, Illinois; Lisa Beck of Dallas, Texas, Kathy (James) Kelly of New Port Richey, Florida; Ellen (Mark) Campbell of Dayton, Ohio, Terri (Mike) McLaughlin of Celina, Tim (Deb) Beck of Minsgter; very special caregivers and grandchild, Jim (Kathy) Beck of Minster; one stepgranddaughter, Leslie Laramy of Jamestown; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A son, James F. Beck and a sister, Marion Meyer preceded her in death. She graduated from Clyde High School in Clyde in 1927 where she loved to play basketball. She was a long time member of the Piqua Country Club and Holy Angels Catholic Church of Sidney. Kathryn had been very active in the C. D. Beck Company - the family business. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio. A private family visitation will be held on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home.
