Leon J. Francis

Leon (Jim) J. Francis, 64, of Sidney, was called home to heaven on October 1st, 2021. He was born on February 18th, 1957 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Leon Francis and Beverly (Hannah) Francis and they are deceased. He married Shannon (Hughes) Francis on August 4th, 1981 and she survives.

Along with Jims wife Shannon, he is survived by three children, Amy (Kyle) Rhoades of Sidney, Ohio; Ashley Francis of Medford, Oregon and Leon Francis Jr. (Sarah) of Cave Junction, Oregon; three grandchildren, Carter, Francis, and Carmine Rhoades, and six brothers and sisters, Ellen Cabeen, Sondra (Tom) Schneider, Kent Francis, David (Lek) Francis, Danny Francis, and Mark Francis. Jim also had numerous nieces and nephews that he adored.

Jim attended Holy Angels and graduated from Sidney High School, Sidney class of 1975. Jim went on to attend college at Cuyamaca where he graduated with a degree in industrial engineering in 1982. He was an associate of Honda of America in Anna for 23 years. Jim was the life of the party and had many, many friends. He loved to go to classic rock concerts. He enjoyed watching San Diego Chargers and Padres games with family and friends. His favorite activity was watching his grandchildren play sports and spend time with the grandchildren and family. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Aaron Hess. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 5:30-7:30 PM.
