Linda C. Ruth

Linda C. (Dowdle) Ruth, 81, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away peacefully, on May 28, 2023, at Ohio Living Dorothy Love in Sidney, Ohio. She was born January 14, 1942 in Marianna, West Virginia, the daughter of Thomas and Edna (Martin) Dowdle. On June 24, 1967, she married Kenneth Ruth, who survives.

Linda is survived by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Ruth of Sidney, Ohio; along with three sisters, Betty Davidson of Phoenix, Arizona; Sue Kirk of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Brenda Wireman of Salyersville, Kentucky; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by both her parents Thomas H. and Edna Dowdle, and one brother Thomas E. Dowdle.

Linda graduated high school in 1960 and went on to attend some college. Linda was a homemaker, a good mother to her four fur babies, Skippy, Luke, Sport, and Charlie until their passing, and a good wife and friend.

In addition to Lindas work she enjoyed volunteering at FISH for the last twelve years, good conversations with all her friends, playing with her fur babies, travel to the Caribbean on cruises, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and being known as the candy lady at her church.

Linda was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Linda was a member of Calvary United Baptist Church in Sidney, Ohio.

Family and friends may call Monday, June 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Calvary United Baptist Church, 9480 County Rd 25A S, Sidney Ohio 45365. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor David Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow at Pearl Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio.
