Luella E. Meyer, 81, 212 Doorley Rd., Cedarwood Commons, Sidney, Ohio died at her daughter's residence at 3288 Sidney-Freyburg Rd., Sidney, Ohio on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 9:50 PM of natural causes. She was born April 18, 1929 in Coldwater, Ohio the daughter of Edward and Alvina (Scheneking) Hamberg and they are deceased. She was married to Richard E. Meyer on May 10, 1952 and he died in 1991. Surviving are five daughters, Kathleen Richardson of Sidney, Ohio; Barb (Chris) Petty of Sidney, Ohio; Sondra (Steve) Wagner of West Virginia; Elizabeth Steele of Sidney, Ohio; and Julie Golden and Keith Shelton of Piqua, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Thelma Miller of Dayton, Ohio; Lavine Wendeln of Kettering, Ohio; and Joan Stammen of New Bremen, Ohio and two brothers, Don Hamberg of Houston, Texas and Tom Hamberg of Coldwater, Ohio. A son-in-law, Todd Steele, great-granddaughter, Jada Steele and one sister and two brothers are deceased. She was a 1947 graduate of Coldwater High School, Coldwater, Ohio. She was a homemaker. She was an avid reader and loved to play with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had been a volunteer at the Kid's Learning Place in Sidney. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney and was a member of the Altar Rosary Sodality at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney on Friday, August 13, 2010 from 4-7 PM. The family would like to thank Wilson Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful care.
