Marilyn Milligan

Marilyn (Liechty) Milligan, 90, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Arden Courts of Anderson Township. Marilyn was born on February 17, 1927 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of David and Grace (Kramer) Liechty and they are deceased. She was married on August 13, 1949 to Samuel Milligan and he preceded her in death. Marilyn was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She also graduated from the College of Wooster earning a degree in Biology and later earned her teaching credentials after which she became a tutor for the Sidney City Schools. She truly loved children and enjoyed gardening and could make anything grow beautifully. She was a long time member of the Sidney First United Methodist Church and a member of the Jungian Assocation of Central Ohio. She is survived by her son, John Milligan and wife Linda of Powell, Ohio; a daughter, Paula Keil and husband David of Cincinnati, Ohio and also survived by a sister, Margaret Guthrie of Fort Wayne, Indiana and a brother, Donald Liechty of Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two children, Jeffrey Samuel Milligan and Margaret Ann Milligan. Her daughter-in-law, Julie (Dunlap) Milligan also survives and grandchildren, Paul Milligan, Kevin Milligan, Andrew Keil, Helen (Adrian) Heneveld, John Keil and Stephanie (Stephan) Oxley. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Eileen Hix of the Sidney First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio. Memorial contributions may made to the Nature Conservancy in Marilyn's name.
