Marlin Lee Shamblin

Marlin Lee Shamblin, 80, 172 Tranquility Ct., Sidney, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 5:04 AM from end stage dementia. He was born July 5, 1938 in St. Albans, West Virginia, the son of Rev. Holly O. and Claris M. (Gray) Shamblin and they are deceased. He was married to Brenda Kiser on December 25, 1960 and she survives along with two sons, Broaddus Wade Shamblin and wife Melissa of Sidney, Ohio and M. Lee Shamblin and wife Christine of Gahanna, Ohio and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving is a brother, Donald Shamblin and wife Marlis of Racine, Wisconsin and a sister, Geraldine Kincade of Indianapolis, Indiana. One brother, Darrell Shamblin is deceased. He had a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Marshall College, Huntington, West Virginia and a Master's Degree in Education from LaUniversidad Veracruzana in Xaplapa, Mexico. He was a teacher at Sidney High School for 29 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the NEA, OEA and SEA education associations and the White Pilgrim United Methodist Church in Wallback, West Virginia where he a trustee of the church. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney, Ohio on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Church in Wallback, West Virginia with burial to be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wallback, West Virginia. Memorial contributions may be made to White Pilgrim United Methodist Church, 149 Hanshaw Lane, Wallback, West Virginia 25285 in care of Marie Hanshaw or Miami County Hospice.
