Mary Jane Applegate

Mary Jane Applegate, 79, passed away at Fair Haven Shelby County Home on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 7:45 AM. She was born November 1, 1935 in Port Jefferson, Ohio the daughter of Howard and Luella (Shaffer) Rike and they are deceased. She married Darrell Edward Applegate in 1963 and he passed away on November 21, 2013. Surviving is a son John Douglas Todd of Lakeside, California; step-daughter, Darcy Winchester and husband Pete of Sidney, Ohio and step-son, Robin Applegate of Sidney, Ohio; three sisters, Charlotte Ann Smith and husband Tom of Maplewood, Ohio, Nancy Leach of Sidney, Ohio and Judy Duckro of Sidney, Ohio and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two sons, James Richard Todd and Jeffrey Ray Todd and a step-son, Brett Applegate are deceased. Mrs. Applegate was a homemaker and at one time worked at Kmart and for Whites Janitorial Service. She was a member of the North Broadway Church of Christ, Sidney, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at North Broadway Church of Christ, 2655 N. Broadway Ave., Sidney, Ohio on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Evangelist Brent Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson, Ohio. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 5-7 PM and on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the church from 12:30 PM until the hour of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Broadway Church of Christ, 2655 N. Broadway Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home and the church.
