Nellie Ann (Wolfe) Miller, 87, of Sidney, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023 at her residence in Sidney. She was born October 2, 1935, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of Clyde and Beatrice (Hamaker) Idle-Wolfe.
Nell was the eldest of nice children and is survived by her seven children Sharon (John) Strayer, of Sidney, Ohio, Deb Tennery of Sidney, Ohio, David (Sara) Tennery, of Colorado, Diane (Alan) Leander of West Virginia, Kathy Hamblin of Sidney, Ohio, Terry (Linda) Miller of Florida, Randy (Jennifer) Miller of Georgia. She is also survived for her only two living siblings, Mike (Tam) Idle of DeGraff, Ohio and Kathy McAfee of Sidney, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Beatrice (Wolfe) Idle, along with siblings, Pat (Gene) Shoffner, Clyde Wolfe, Jr., Marilyn (Ron) Slocum, William (Bill) Wolfe, Daniel Idle, and Steve Idle.
Nellie Ann graduated from Rosewood High School, where she was a cheerleader and enjoyed participating in athletics. After High School, Nell married Charles R. (Dick) Tennery. Charles also preceded her in Death. Nell later married Dean D. Miller, (1981) of Sidney, Ohio. Dean proceeded her in death (2016).
Throughout her life, Nellie remained very active in the lives of her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As all of her children say, Nell's home was always open to our large group of friends. It was the "go-to" place for so many friends and neighbors. She loved to organize neighborhood block parties. Nellie was also active in the Sigma Epsilon Alpha Sorority, where she made many life-long friends.
Nellie was of Christian Faith loved traveling with family and friends, playing Bingo, and having coffee on the porch. She loved and was loved by so many. Her children say, "our mom was an amazing example of the power of kindness to all and unconditional love". "She was a tower of strength and support, and we will miss her immeasurably".
In keeping with Nellies Wishes, she will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life for Nellie will be held Saturday September 9, 2023, from 11:00AM 4:00PM, at the Piqua, Ohio VFW Post 4874, (8756 N. County RD 25A. Piqua, Ohio, 45365 where her nephew, Dennis Tennery serves as Post Commander. A brief service will commence at 11:30 AM led by her brother, Mike Idle. Nellies final resting place will be Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wilson Hospice or Alzheimers Association. Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home is honored to be taking care of the Miller family.
