Rev. Elliott John Kuehne, 77, 849 Merri Lane, Sidney, Ohio died at his residence on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 1:15 PM after an extended illness. He was born October 3, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of William E. and Claudia Bea (Barnett) Kuehne and they are deceased. He moved to Sidney in 1969 from Livermore, Kentucky. He was married on June 27, 1953 to Mary Anna Ware and she died in 1977 and he married Nancy Brown on December 8, 1990 and she survives along with five children, John D. Kuehne of Sidney, Ohio; Leslie P. Kuehne of Manhattan, Kansas; Vivian R. Locke of Wapakoneta, Ohio; Timothy E. Kuehne of Columbus, Ohio and Steven Kuehne of Augusta, Georgia and two step-children, Roger Brown Jr. of Columbus, Ohio and Tammy Sue Brown of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cora Metz and Margaret Hame of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Jerry Kuehne of Chesnee, South Carolina and Ronald Kuehne of Cincinnati. One step-grandchild, one brother, and one sister are deceased. He graduated from Woodward High School in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1949. He was a United States Army veteran from 1949-1953 stationed in Germany. He had been the President of the PTA in Livermore, Kentucky and was a community organizer for an economic opportunity group in Livermore, Kentucky and organized a youth center in Livermore. He had been a minister at the Sidney Wesleyan Church and also at one time had been a minister at the Pilgram of Holiness Church in Livermore, Kentucky; Pilgram of Holiness Church in Lewisport, Kentucky and the Church of Christ and Christian Union Church in Wapakoneta, Ohio. He family traveled as a God squad as an evangelistic team. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney with Mr. Willis Rehn officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice Care, 915 W. Michigan St., Sidney, Ohio 45365 and envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
