Rev. James J. O'Connor

Rev. James J. OConnor, 93, of Carthagena, Ohio, was called home to the Lord on May 4, 2022, at St. Charles Center in Carthagena, Ohio. He was born June 26, 1928, in Fayetteville, Ohio, the son of William and Grace (Leonard) OConnor, who are deceased.

Rev. James is survived by his one sister and two brothers Marie (Edward- deceased) Mahoney of Cincinnati, Ohio; Stephen (Mary Carol) OConnor of Cincinnati, Ohio; Robert (JoAnne) OConnor of Longwood, Florida along with thirty-three nieces and nephews, and seventy-one great nieces and nephews. Rev. James was preceded in death by both his parents, and five siblings Martha Jane Muchmore, Sister Anne OConnor, Mary Ellen Bolan, and Francis and William OConnor.

After Rev. James had graduated high school he went on to college to become and ordained priest. James was the pastor at Holy Angels Church in Sidney, Ohio from 1974-1985 where everyone loved him. Rev. James will be missed by many. Rev. James enjoyed being outdoors he loved to go fishing, golfing, hunting and his hunting dogs, playing cards and poker but most of all spending time with his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews along with his love for God. Rev. James was a member of Holy Angels Church in Sidney, Ohio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Shoup. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ohio. Friends may call at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 9:30 AM 10:45 AM.
