Richard Ordean

Richard Ordean, 72, of St. Marys, Ohio,  passed away at 7:30pm at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio on Wednesday - October 30, 2024. Richard was born on June 17, 1952, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Richard and Treva (Weaver) Ordean. On March 14, 1973, Richard married the love of his life - Starlene (Allen) Ordean, and she survives.

Richard leaves behind his children - Toyneice (Andres) Felipe Hincapie-Gonzalez, Richard (Amy Benanzer) Ordean, Eric Ordean, and Chad (Jennifer Martin) Ordean.

Richard also leaves behind his dearly loved grandchildren - Steven and Casey Curl, Braydon Puthoff, Kendra, Richard, and Anthony Ordean, Elizabeth (Rob) Smith, Christopher (Shelby Shaner) Ordean, Dillon (Chyanne Lawson) Ordean, Cheyanne Ordean, Justus Black, Mariah (Myles), Alexis Leathem - Ordean, as well as great-grandchildren - Austin, Katie, Theodore, and Isabella, Freya, Magnolia, Ledgend, Gloria, Haileigh, Kinzlee, Jasper, and Laideen. Richard also leaves behind his brothers and sisters - Keith, Karen, Bill, Steve, Jim, and Susan.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one brother - John, and his precious granddaughter - Erica.

Richard was a truck driver for over 51 years, and still carried on his passion for driving up until 2 months before passing away. He and Starlene shared many wonderful years together, full of many adventures such as attending Native American Pow-Wow’s, playing corn hole with their children, playing baseball, and even fishing. Richard loved his grandchildren, and loved picking on them. When playing with his grandchildren, he enjoyed flipping them with a towel and laughed at their reactions.

Above all, Richard dearly loved God, his life, and his loving wife, Starlene. Richard will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday - November 7, 2024, at Salm - McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home, from 5-7 PM with a time of prayer and family stories starting at 7PM, with Father Edwin Gearhart. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday - November 8, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at the Holy Angels Catholic Church, with Father Reckers. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco, Ohio.
