Richard V. Hensley

Richard V. Hensley, 45, of Sidney, Ohio, was called home to heaven on May 11, 2023, at Wilson Health in Sidney, Ohio. He was born July 30, 1977, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Greg Foy of West Palm Springs, Florida and Diana (Hensley) Carter of Sidney, Ohio.

Richard is survived by his mother, Diana Carter and step-father Eugene Carter of Sidney, Ohio; and father Greg (Yalonda) Foy of West Palm Springs, Florida; and six children, Tasia (Eric) Terry of Sidney, Ohio; Skyler Hensley of Carmi, Illinois; Kyren Curtis of Infield, Illinois; Brielle Hensley of Sidney, Ohio; and Serenity Hensley of Sidney, Ohio; Sasha Richards of Carmi, Illinois; and two brothers Lucas (Lyesa) Hensley of Sidney, Ohio; and Adam (Heather) Carter of Piqua, Ohio; and grandmother Mary Foy of Sidney, Ohio; along with six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and several aunts and uncles, and close friends. Richard was preceded in death by grandpa Foy of Sidney, Ohio; nephew, Keshon Hensley of Evansville, Indiana; and grandparents, Lugene and Cardale Carter of Homer, Louisiana; and Hazel (Hensley) Cornett and Cass Hensley both of Sidney, Ohio.

Richard graduated from Sidney High School class of 1994. Richard was self-employed and was a handyman. Richard enjoyed using his handyman skills making arts and crafts, going fishing, cracking jokes, and loved music where he taught himself how to play piano, keyboard, and bass guitar, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, friends, and especially loved the time he spent with his best friend, Rosemary Benjamin.

Richard was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Richard was of the Christian faith.

Family and friends may call Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 with Pastor Arnold G. Martin. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
