Ronald W. Smith, 88, of Sidney, Ohio, was called home to heaven on January 14th, 2022, at home surrounded by his family in Sidney, Ohio. He was born July 6st, 1933, in Sidney, Ohio the son of Royal and Aldema (Hager) Smith, who are deceased.

Ronald is survived by his two children Jennifer (Frank) St. Myers and Mike (Kathy) Smith both of Sidney, six grandchildren Nathan (Kaci) Smith, Keely (Nate) Girod, Cory (Danika) St. Myers, Joshua St. Myers, Sara St. Myers and Carly St. Myers and thirteen great grandchildren and one brother Larry (Joy) Smith of Troy, Ohio. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie and both his parents.

Ronald graduated from Sidney High School in Sidney, Ohio class of 1951. After serving in the United States Navy, Ronald worked at Amos Press in Sidney, Ohio for 35 years before retiring. Ronald was a member of the American Legion. Ronald enjoyed collecting baseball cards, watching sports especially baseball and football, but most of all spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family, and friends. Ronald was of the Baptist faith.

A graveside service with full military honors by the Sidney American Legion will be held Friday January 21st at 10:30am at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney Ohio with Pastor Garland Wilkerson and Grandson Nathan Smith. Online condolences may be left for the Smith family at www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wilson Hospice in Sidney, Ohio or St. Jude Children Research Hospital. Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home is honored to be taking care of the Smith family.
