Ruth Ilene Meyer

Ruth Ilene Meyer, 75, formerly of 301 Robinwood St., Sidney, Ohio died at Fair Haven Shelby County Home on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 6:30 AM. She was born March 17, 1934 in Sidney, Ohio the daughter of John E. and Goldie (Burns) Bales and they are deceased. She was married on June 25, 1955 to Paul E. (Pete) Meyer Sr. and he died January 20, 1999. Surviving are three children, Cinda Meyer of Dublin, Ohio; Connie Harlamert and husband Steve of Sidney and Paul Jr. of Sidney; seven grandchildren, Caitlin Gross, Mitchell Harlamert, Emily Harlamert Bogue, Maggie Meyer, Hannah Meyer, Laura Meyer and Nathan Phillips and one brother, Jack Bales of Sidney. She was a 1952 graduate of Sidney High School. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Wilson Hospice, Wilson Hospital Auxiliary volunteer, taught English as a second language and played the piano at the area nursing homes. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She had worked at Krogers in Sidney for 35 years as a cashier. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney with Rev. Joe Pumphrey officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at Fair Haven Shelby County Home, 2901 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio 45365. Attention: Carol DeNise.
