Stephen "Whitey" Arnold Whited

Stephen Whitey Arnold Whited, 68, 500 N. Vandemark Rd., Apt. 38, Sidney, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 6:50 AM. He was born November 6, 1946 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Arnold and Jane A. (Wood) Whited and they are deceased. He is survived by special friend, Patty Markett and also three sisters, Margaret Rathsack and husband Jim of Lewistown, Ohio; Dottie Baker and husband Steve of Sidney, Ohio and Sarah Collier and husband Greg of Sidney, Ohio and two brothers, Larry Whited and wife Sharon of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Donald Richard Whited of Delaware, Ohio. One daughter, Natalie Jane Whited, one sister, Mary Jane Whited and a brother, Jim Whited are deceased. Mr. Whited was a 1966 graduate of Sidney High School. He had worked at Francis Foundry in Russia, Ohio for many years. He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was an artist and loved to fish. He was a member of the Sidney American Legion and Holy Angels Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. James Riehle. Burial will follow with full military honors at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 5-7 PM and on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sidney Veterans Administration for the Memorial Squad, Post 217, 1265 Fourth Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365 or Holy Angels Catholic Church, 324 S. Ohio Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
