Steven Caryer

Steven M. Caryer, 34, Defiance, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017, as a result of a vehicle accident. Steven was born on December 9, 1982, the son of Douglas and Jeanine (Porter) Caryer. He was a graduate of Ayersville High School, and a self-employed welder by trade. On October 5, 2003, he married Mary Miler, whom he was divorced from, they remained friends and co-parents to their children. In addition to his parents, Steven is survived by his children, Nicholas Austin Caryer, Kylie Ashlynn Caryer and Levi Matthew Caryer. He is also survived by two sisters, Heather (Jason) Hagerman and Rachel (Bret Hostettler) Caryer. Also, are his paternal grandparents, Richard and Shirley Caryer. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Melvin and Barbara Porter. Steven was a professional welder, which opened many doors for him, and quite an artist, which was his passion. He adored his children, and loved kids in general, and they loved him too. He was a kind soul, with a great sense of humor, a penchant for sarcasm, and a passion for motorcycles, which he didnt have, but loved them anyway. He will be missed tremendously by his family and friends. The family will receive friends on June 22, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church 14102 Ohio 111, Defiance, Ohio 43512. On Friday, June 23, 2017, there will be a visitation at the church from 10-11 a.m., with the service to begin at 11 a.m., with Pastor Mick Sobieck officiating. Memorial contributions to Gideon Bibles, or the family, who will donate funds received toward children with parents who have drug and alcohol addiction.
