Willa C. Hand

Willa C. Hand, 93, died on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 3:25 PM at The Pavilion in Sidney. She formerly lived at 226 Brookburn St., Sidney. She was born April 30, 1917 in Fayette County, Illinois and was the daughter of Clyde and Mary (Dilbone) Keppler and they are deceased. She moved to Shelby County in 1928 and married Bernard Hand in 1937. He died in 1990. Surviving are six children, Harry of Piqua, Ohio; David and wife Judy of Huntsville, Ohio; Mark and wife Patty of Anna, Ohio; Saundra Truax and husband Brian of Colliers, West Virginia; Mary Lou Hand of Sidney; and Susan Adkins and husband Gene of Sidney and 22 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Two brothers, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren are deceased. She was a member of the North Broadway Church of Christ in Sidney. She had worked at the Spot Restaurant in Sidney for 37 years and was well known for her pie baking there. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 11:30 AM at the North Broadway Church of Christ, 2655 N. Broadway, Sidney, Ohio with Rev. Leo Senevey and Evangelist Brent Wright. Burial will be at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco, Ohio. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
