William P. O'Leary

William "Pat" OLeary, 86, of Sidney, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023 surrounded by his family. William was born November 28, 1936 in Sidney, Ohio to the late Emerson and Elisabeth (Bauer) OLeary. On December 29, 1956, William married Judy (DeWeese) OLeary who survives.

William is survived by his wife, Judy along with three children, Kimberly (Alan) Hoying of Sidney, Ohio, Kevin OLeary of Sidney, Ohio, and Meg (Ray) Curtis of Seymour, Tennessee. Also surviving are four granddaughters Elisabeth (Jon) Pemberton, Sarah Martz, Rachel (Alex) Buckner, and Emily (Cory) Eisenhardt, and seven great-grandchildren, Colton and Maddison Martz, Owen and Ashlynn Pemberton, Henry Buckner, Emmit and Cayson Eisenhardt, along with one sister Ann (Michael - deceased) OConnor of Beavercreek, Ohio. William was preceded in death by his parents along with his brother Tom OLeary and granddaughter Laura Hoying.

William graduated from Holy Angels High School with the class of 1954. William worked for Copland Corp. for 43 years starting at the sheep shed on Brooklyn Ave. in Sidney before retiring. He was a lifelong member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, Ohio. Pat was a member of the Sidney Elks Lodge and the Sidney Moose Lodge.

In addition to Williamss work he and his wife Judy enjoyed all the family vacations on the beaches of South Carolina. Pat was an Avid Cleveland Browns fan and had season tickets for many years for the University of Dayton mens basketball season, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, children, family, and friends.

He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In keeping with Williams wishes, he will be cremated and a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney, Ohio with Fr. Steve Mondiek. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio. Family and friends may call Friday, September 29, 2023 from 9:00 AM 10:00 AM at Salm-McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney.
